My Story

Ashleigh Droz is professional career counselor, educator, writer, and speaker, with more than a decade of experience helping aspiring students and professionals explore and create meaningful careers. Having struggled to fit into the dry, prescriptive career story we are all fed, she chose to follow her passions instead... clear road map and expectations be damned.

After realizing that what was really holding her back was myth after myth about how our careers are "supposed" to go, she threw herself into finding real answers about authenticity, purpose, and what truly matters - while still mastering the necessary rules for career success.  Now with a Masters of Arts in Education for Counseling and Guidance, multiple coaching certifications, and over a decade of experience in both universities and private practice, Ashleigh brings her creative and strategic approach to every client, student, and employer. It is her mission to help her clients dive deeply into learning about themselves, demystify the career job search, and ultimately find their place and potential in this great, big working world.

After launching as a Career Advisor at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Ashleigh has been based in Southwest Florida since 2014, where she developed her private practice Linnea Consulting in addition to continuing to work in higher education. A few of her services include in-person and virtual one-on-ones, group coaching, employee development workshops, keynote speaking, and freelance writing. She is certified in the world-renowned Gallup CliftonStrengths and Strong Interest Inventory assessments, as well as several other tools used to increase self-awareness and educated career decision-making, and is in the development process of both online courses and a forthcoming book.

She is also co-founder of the MPC Academy, focused on career development and mindset work for middle and high school-aged students, and the SWFL Female Founders Collective, which brings the area’s women-owned businesses together. In addition to her private practice, she also serves as the Director of Internships & Cooperative Programs at Florida Gulf Coast University, where she has taught more than 60 classes on career and student success, professionalism, and public speaking. She has also published career articles and presented locally, regionally, and nationally on career development theory and best practices, most notably for the National Association of Colleges and Employers and the National Career Development Association.
